What We Believe

What we believe about God

We believe that God is the creator of all things visible and invisible. There is only one God, eternal and infinite, who exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Deut 6:4, Mk 1:10-11, Mat 28:19, Col 1:16, Ps 90:2)

Father

The author of all things, who spoke the universe into existence. (Gen 1:1, Mat 6:9)

Son

Jesus Christ is the only Son of the Father, became flesh and dwelt among us, and is the only pathway to the Father. (John 1:14, John 3:16, John 14:6)

The Spirit

The advocate, given to us after the ascension of Jesus Christ, the fullness of God who dwells within believers upon Baptism for the remission of sins. (John 14:16-17, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:38-29, 1 Cor 3:16)

What we believe about the Bible

We believe the Bible is the inerrant word of God, useful for teaching, correcting, and rebuking. It is alive and active, and is the final authority for Christians. (2 Tim 3:16-17, Isa 40:8, Heb 4:12)

What we believe about salvation

The Bible teaches that a person is saved by putting their faith in Christ, repenting of sin, confessing Christ as Lord, and being Immersed into Christ through the waters of Baptism. No human being is able to earn their salvation through the works of the law, but rather it is a gift of God one must accept on faith. (John 1:12, John 14:6, Rom 6:23, Eph 2:8-9, Acts 2:38-39, 1 Pet 3:21-22)

What we believe about people

We believe that all human beings are created in the image of God, and precious in their own right. Through our own disobedience and sin, human beings are separated from God and worthy of death, but through the saving grace of Jesus Christ's death, burial, and resurrection we have access to everlasting life. (Gen 1:27, Rom 3:23, Rom 6:23, John 3:16, 1 Cor 15:1-3)
